After some time of severe back pain, feeling very tired and ill, our son, Jacob, was diagnosed on August 13, 2009 with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). We were stunned and devastated by the news, but God had been preparing us and establishing relationships all around us for some time for this difficult news and time. We want you to know that God immediately started showing us just how much He loves Jacob and our entire family, as family and friends all came around to comfort and help.

The doctors expect Jacob's treatment to last for 3 years; the first 8 days of daily chemo, followed by 7 months of less frequent chemo and then the remainder of time, less frequent chemo. The leukemia is treatable and curable. Jacob has an incredible faith in our God and we all know, that God can heal Jacob sooner, if He chooses. We're expecting God to be with us all along the way.
