Steve Smothers

In January of 1995, my family and I moved to Dripping Springs to start a new church called Dripping Springs Community Fellowship. Our desire was to simply come alongside the existing congregations in our region and make disciples of Jesus Christ. From the beginning we purposed to be a church-planting church. In partnership with Cypress Creek Church in Wimberley, we helped start churches in every city in Hays County as well as South Korea and Mexico.

Originally started as a cell church, CF is in the process of transforming into a network of organic, missional, Simple Churches. My role as Senior Pastor has now expanded to Team Leader of the Simple Church Network. Much like a “circuit riding preacher” of old, my responsibility is to encourage and equip the leaders of our Simple Churches.
I am also a “fire starter.” One of my primary roles is igniting and multiplying new Simple Churches throughout the region, state, nation, and world.
It is my sincere prayer that God will connect you with the church that is the right for you—whether a traditional (legacy) church or a Simple Church family (network). If you’re looking for relational Christianity and people you can call family, a Simple Church at CF could be just for you.

May God bless you in your journey toward Him,

Steve
